Sorah Al-Haaqqah ( The Inevitable ) - Verses Number 52
الْحَاقَّةُ ( 1 ) 
The Sure Reality!
مَا الْحَاقَّةُ ( 2 )
What is the Sure Reality?
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ ( 3 )
And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ ( 4 )
The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ ( 5 )
But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!
وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ ( 6 )
And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ ( 7 )
He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!
فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ ( 8 )
Then seest thou any of them left surviving?
وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ ( 9 )
And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.
فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً ( 10 )
And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty.
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ ( 11 )
We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),
لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ ( 12 )
That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ ( 13 )
Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,
وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً ( 14 )
And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ ( 15 )
On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.
وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ ( 16 )
And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰ أَرْجَائِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ ( 17 )
And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ ( 18 )
That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِيَهْ ( 19 )
Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record!
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ ( 20 )
"I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!"
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ( 21 )
And he will be in a life of Bliss,
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ( 22 )
In a Garden on high,
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ ( 23 )
The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ ( 24 )
"Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ ( 25 )
And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ ( 26 )
"And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ ( 27 )
"Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهْ ۜ ( 28 )
"Of no profit to me has been my wealth!
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيَهْ ( 29 )
"My power has perished from me!"...
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ( 30 )
(The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him,
ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ ( 31 )
"And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire.
ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ ( 32 )
"Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits!
إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ ( 33 )
"This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High.
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ( 34 )
"And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent!
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ ( 35 )
"So no friend hath he here this Day.
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ ( 36 )
"Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds,
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِئُونَ ( 37 )
"Which none do eat but those in sin."
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ ( 38 )
So I do call to witness what ye see,
وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ( 39 )
And what ye see not,
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ ( 40 )
That this is verily the word of an honoured messenger;
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ ( 41 )
It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe!
وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ( 42 )
Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive.
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ( 43 )
(This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds.
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ ( 44 )
And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name,
لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ ( 45 )
We should certainly seize him by his right hand,
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ ( 46 )
And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ ( 47 )
Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath).
وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ( 48 )
But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing.
وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ ( 49 )
And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it).
وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ( 50 )
But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers.
وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ ( 51 )
But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ( 52 )
So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High.

- WHY DO WE PRAY?Why does Man need to Pray?. After a long and hectic day at work, how difficult it is for a tired person to stand on the prayer-mat and concentrate on his prayers to Allah Almighty. Snuggled in a warm and cozy bed, how difficult it is to get up at the call of Mu’adhdhin: “Come to prayer, come to success.” The famous doctor and philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna), recalls such a moment in his life. Once cold and icy night, he and his slave were resting in an inn in a remote part of Khurasan. During the night he felt thirsty and shouted out to his slave to get him some water. The salve had no desire to leave his warm bed, so he pretended not to hear Avicenna’s call. But finally after repeated calls he reluctantly got up and went to fetch the water.
