Sorah Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Verses Number 5

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ( 1 )

Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Ayaa 1

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ ( 2 )

Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Ayaa 2

No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ( 3 )

Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Ayaa 3

Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame!

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ ( 4 )

Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Ayaa 4

His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!-

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ ( 5 )

Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Ayaa 5

A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!
