Sorah At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Verses Number 17

وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ( 1 )

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);-

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ( 2 )

And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?-

النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ( 3 )

(It is) the Star of piercing brightness;-

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ ( 4 )

There is no soul but has a protector over it.

فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ( 5 )

Now let man but think from what he is created!

خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ ( 6 )

He is created from a drop emitted-

يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ ( 7 )

Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:

إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ ( 8 )

Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)!

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ( 9 )

The Day that (all) things secret will be tested,

فَمَا لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ ( 10 )

(Man) will have no power, and no helper.

وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ ( 11 )

By the Firmament which returns (in its round),

وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ ( 12 )

And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),-

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ ( 13 )

Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil):

وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ ( 14 )

It is not a thing for amusement.

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ( 15 )

As for them, they are but plotting a scheme,

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا ( 16 )

And I am planning a scheme.

فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا ( 17 )

Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).

The Call for the Unity of Religions: A False and Dangerous CallDr. Saleh As-Saleh said in the beginning of the book, "We hear nowadays a strange call by organized groups involving some Christians, Jews, and “Muslim” intellectuals calling for “wihdatul adyaan”. They claim that these three religions stand for the same belief that there is One God and should unite in their call for the implementation of great moral values. Some of those involved call for the establishment of centers containing churches, synagogues, and masaajid side by side, and printing the Qur’an, the Bible, and the Torah in one binding, etc. In the name of defending Islam against political and media distortions in the West, some organizations are compromising the basics of the Islamic creed through what is called “Bridging the Faiths.” This is a very dangerous call because it mixes the truth with falsehood and thus practically implies the elimination of the truth perfected in the deen of Islam.
