Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ( 2 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 2
Who created and proportioned
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ ( 3 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 3
And who destined and [then] guided
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ ( 4 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 4
And who brings out the pasture
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ ( 5 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 5
And [then] makes it black stubble.
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ ( 6 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 6
We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ ( 7 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 7
Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ( 8 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 8
And We will ease you toward ease.
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ ( 9 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 9
So remind, if the reminder should benefit;
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ ( 10 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 10
He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى ( 11 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 11
But the wretched one will avoid it -
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ ( 12 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 12
[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ ( 13 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 13
Neither dying therein nor living.
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ( 14 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 14
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ ( 15 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 15
And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا ( 16 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 16
But you prefer the worldly life,
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ ( 17 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 17
While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ ( 18 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 18
Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ ( 19 ) Al-A'la ( The Most High ) - Ayaa 19
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

  • Rules Governing The Criticism Of HadithAn summarised text detailing the rules governing the Criticism of Hadeeth. From its introduction -'A hadith (pl. ahadith) is composed of two parts: the matn (text) and the isnad (chain of reporters). A text may seem to be logical and reasonable but it needs an authentic isnad with reliable reporters to be acceptable; 'Abdullah b. al-Mubarak (d. 181 AH) is reported to have said, "The isnad is part of the religion: had it not been for the isnad, whoever wished to would have said whatever he liked." During the lifetime of the Prophet (SAS) and after his death, his Companions (Sahabah) used to refer to him when quoting his sayings. The Successors (Tabi'un) followed suit; some of them used to quote the Prophet (SAS) through the Companions while others would omit the intermediate authority - such a hadith was known as mursal (loose). It was found that the missing link between the Successor and the Prophet (SAS) might be one person, i.e. a Companion, or two persons, the extra person being an older Successor who heard the hadith from the Companion.'

  • Understanding the Evil of InnovationThis book is to be seen as a modest attempt, a small but significant and sincere contribution, to the input of materials pertaining to Islam which set to curb and eventually uproot evil and establish righteousness, so that people are helped in clinging to the only way that affords them safety from the Fire, and brings them closer to Allah with a submission to his will that is borne of easiness as a result based on correct knowledge and understanding.

  • The Bible led me to IslamThis book is a compilation of excerpts from several books addressing Christianity that I had the pleasure of reading before and after I became a Muslim. After becoming a Muslim, I continued to read books about Christianity because the "skin" of Christianity was hard to cast off after 28 years in the religion; years that almost led me to becoming the minister of an African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) church In Great Falls, Montana.
